Just like old times!

Last weekend, we were able to go to a double birthday party for some of our good friend's kids, who were both turning 1. When we got to the birthday, there was a huge blow-up toy in the back yard. Kyle and I looked at each other and we both got SO excited. As you may or may not know, these blow-up toys play a big part in our history! It is what brought us together. Ha. So, we had to take some pictures, for old time's sake.

Bitter Sweet Day

Today, September 11, 2008, I am NOT proud to say that I am technically a California Resident. After 23 years of being a Wyoming Resident (and a friggin' proud one), I had to pull the plug, and get a CA driver's license. I think I pouted the entire time while at the DMV (a four hour adventure). So, of course, I had to mark this day in history and take a picture. It was a sad day, giving up my Wyoming driver's license.  

In all seriousness though, the main reason I did this was so that I could Vote as a CA resident in the upcoming election. I know that my one single vote may not make that much difference, but I have to fight for the Prop. 8, stating that "only marriage between a man and a women is valid or recognized in California." 

Also, since it is 9/11, it is a GREAT day to be thankful for our troops everywhere in the world. THANK YOU FOR FIGHTING FOR OUR FREEDOM, and THANK YOU FOR PROTECTING OUR COUNTRY AND MAKING US FEEL SAFE. Also, A BIG THANKS to Brian (my brother-in-law) and Jill (my cousin), two members of my family who served in Iraq and Afghanistan to protect our country. THANK YOU SO MUCH. YOU ARE SO BRAVE and WE LOVE YOU!

Introducing our newest addition to the Sager Family: 

HOWIE SAGER!!!

On August 18, we were so excited to go pick up our new puppy. Howie is a 4 lbs. Mini Dachshund. We rescued him from the Santa Cruz Animal Shelter. Believe it or not, but he was being abused when he was only 3 weeks old (totally sad). So, we were more than welcome to take in this little pup and get him in a better home. We love having him around, but we have to be careful not to step on him because he is so tiny. It has been a ton of fun learning how to take care of a little puppy. He knows how to "sit," and "lay down;" and we are now working on "rolling over." It's amazing how much energy he has. When he gets really excited, he literally runs figure 8's in our living room. It is hilarious! He is a totally fun pup!

We are biased, but we think he is the cutest dog EVER!

Boom's and Yogi's visit

Our great friends were kind enough to pay us a visit. They said they came to visit us, but we all know the truth... they were just using us so they wouldn't have to pay for a hotel while vacationing in San Francisco. It's OK though because we had a blast hanging out with them. 

Golden Gate Bridge: It was a super cold day. In the picture: Mel, Kyle (holding Howie), Justin, Megan, Kelli, and Andrew.  I believe Megan's loogie stayed intact for the longest before it was swept out of site.  Way to go Megan!  

Clam Chowder in a bread bowl at Fisherman's wharf. That stuff is amazing!

We didn't eat there, but we went in to take pictures at the Rain Forest Cafe and play with the automatronic gorillas. For some reason, Boom has some sort of odd obsession with monkeys, and they were everywhere. So we had to go in and take pictures with the monkeys and stuff.

NINERS: We went to a pre-season  49er's game vs. the Packers. It's always fun to actually go to a game instead of watch it on TV. We were in the nose-bleed section, but it was still a ton of fun. Lots of fights on the field and in the stands... Our favorite fans were the drunks in the highest seats, yelling "No Farve, No Way!"  for the last 8 minutes of the game. 

When people visit us, we, of course, have to take them to see the Redwoods. This is a picture of what appears to be gay men. However, it is just Kyle, Boom, and Yogi.  Yogi is definitely the most gay out of the 3 non-gay men in this picture..... Happy gay, not loves men gay.   

This was a huge Redwood that we all easily fit into. We had a blast with the Yogis and Booms. Thanks so much for coming to visit us.  We miss you guys already!

Mel's Wyoming Trip

In July, I was able to go visit my family. (I left Kyle alone in Cali...sorry Kyle, but thanks for letting me go!) While there, the fam and I did a whole bunch of fun stuff, including Rendezvous Weekend in Pinedale, a pack trip, and boating on Flaming George. Here are some pics:

My dad and I went on a pack trip up to Water Dog Lake near Pinedale, WY. It was so beautiful. We were definitely  living the good life riding horses up there in the mountains. It was great to spend some time with my papa.

When we got up to Water Dog Lake, we got off our horses to eat lunch. As we walked over this one ridge, we came up on about 200 head of elk. Of course, my dad had his elk call on him, so he took it out and called all the cow elk over towards us. They all ran out of the trees toward us. It was amazing!

My trip back to Wyoming was super fun. I had a blast hanging out with my fam. I totally miss my sisters though. They all live in Wyoming, and I live oh so far away in California. Because of this, I had so much fun hanging out with all of them. I just love my sisters!
